Ontario to Kentucky - Things to Consider!

Hey all. Hoping I get gain some insight as to what I might need to drag my horse from Ontario to Kentucky this summer. Pending tariff rules and all of the other scary things happening at the moment…

We typically show the Ontario “A” circuit so I have my EC gold sport license/horse recording, OE and OHJA memberships. To show temporarily in the US, what other registrations would I need? Are there different tiers of USEF, and if so, what would I require? I’m fully aware of what we require to cross the border ie. coggins/vet exam (we’re shipping commercial), just looking for what I might need in addition to all of that or little things I may not think of!

TIA!

USEF has a toll free phone number and I am sure someplace on their website you can simply ask them. IME they are quite helpful. Even with non member questions.

You will also be dealing with USHJA (US Hunter Jumper Association who administers those divisions) and pretty sure they also will be able to answer your questions.

USEF and Equine Canada have a reciprocal agreement, so you do not need to pay for a USEF membership. However, you do need to actually do the sign up (for free) and complete their safe sport etc.

Everything you need is probably here:
