Have you tried an “oxy” bleach? Don’t use vinegar, it will set the colour. My gray mare has her tail braided in one of those 3 tube tail bags, then doubled and taped up with electrical tape all winter. I take it out and condition then rebraid every week or so. It comes out as soon as the bugs do, but at least it doesn’t have that gorgeous tobacco coloured stain and it is easier to keep clean when I can wash it regularly
Have to laugh…I know of a couple who turned their saddlebred purple for a few weeks…
So I learned yesterday from my salon lady, to wash with a bottle of Coke (soda), it strips color. Never knew that.
According to an email that goes around coke is kept in police cars to clean blood off roads.
Whatever you do, don’t drink that stuff!
