Open spur rub at Devon

I think that’s a picture of McQueen, the horse that was grand hunter champion at Devon. Not the horse with the mark on his side.

That also looks like Nick Haness to me, not Colin.

Why hasn’t the OP come back ? Feels very sour grapes.

Because no one agreed with her conclusions, it’s disappointing when you are so upset and no one agrees with you

Especially if you joined just in order to make this your first ever post.

Thank you! The heat yesterday must have given me brain fog.

I saw him in person in the hack class and I thought it looked like a spur rub to me. In the hack it appeared to me that his spur was where the mark is located.

So, if you were there and saw it in person, did YOU go to the officials and bring it to their attention? This is a huge show, lots of moving parts, they cannot possibly put eyes on each and every horse with the current system.

To me, I think based on the location, it would be a stretch to say its a spur rub, But, I was not there, so I am basing that off photos.

Is there more than one photo of it?
All I see is that one jumping photo, and in my opinion it would be pretty hard to get a spur rub there.

Sorry, what I should have said was the photo and the video. But I really didn’t see anything at all in the video. The photo mentioned in the article was in an odd spot for sure.

Darn, I had hoped I had missed another photo.

I did not see anything in the video other than a nice round.

Very nice round in the video, for sure.

The plaid horse just posted this to their instagram

Basically calls out the rider,
stewards, and USEF for their inaction. I guess they were able to confirm it was spur mark, which, by these pictures, is a lot more plausible than it seemed to be originally…

The Plaid Horse just posted on their Instagram with several photos. Safe to say this goes well beyond a normal spur rub - this is a spur wound.

This is a dangerous witch hunt and I’m disappointed in Plaid Horse for joining in on this one.
It’s not hard for people to start photo-shopping pics to slamming their competition and with so much social media slamming right now, that’s the last thing that people need.
If you see it in person and think that it’s something alarming, bring it to the attention of horse show management or a steward. Accent on the “IN PERSON”. By all means, if you see something, say something. It might go somewhere, it might not. But as we all know from Snapchat filters… social media doesn’t always tell the full story.

Piper didn’t confirm [edit]; she just wants to go on one of her social justice warrior rants. She even admitted in IG comments that she doesn’t know that it’s a rub. If she has that much of an issue, she needs to write about it from the perspective of an unbiased journalist, not a witch hunt.

Can someone post the rest of the photos form Plaid Horse?

In the from the front photo that mark seemed too far under, which is hard to tell from a side shot.

Does anyone other than the stewards at Devon know what steps were actually taken and what investigation was done if needed? No. USEF doesn’t do anything overnight so until we hear directly from them, this is just gossip.

Holy moly how does that even happen!

I never ride in spurs though so excuse my ignorance.

The Plaid Horse photos sure do paint a different picture. That said, I would expect more of the publisher and owner of a “media and news company” than posting a series of photos and not penning an article with sources, quotes, etc. Not that I would call The Plaid Horse “journalism”…

I’m surprised it hasn’t been shared on her facebook. Must be writing up something longer than the post shared here.
