A friend is considering buying one and wanted me to see if anyone had any knowledge and opinions on these saddles. I tried a search but did not really find a thread I could point her to but if there is one - could you send that my way too?

I believe the Optima is a new(er) model so there may not be many with a lot of experience with it yet. I will say, I have a custom BC Eloquence and I love it. My rep is amazing and the saddle was very high quality for what I paid. Great saddles!
Not only is it a brand spankin’ new model, but even among people who own one, it’s going to be hard to find consistent feedback. The whole concept of the Optima is that Black Country will build it on any of their saddle trees–which vary quite a bit–and will custom-place the block exactly where you want it on the flap. Thus, no two Black Country Optima saddles will be exactly alike.
Ditto jn4j. It’s spandy new, so not much in the feedback arena yet, but given the variations that it can be made with, it can probably fit a wide range of horses and riders.
Reviving this thread to see whether, now that the Optima has been around for six or so years, there are any more opinions.
