Opinions on DHH crosses for jumping?

You just described the farm where I live and work. And yes, things can go wrong even when you are very experienced and have taken every precaution. Exhausting does not begin to describe foaling season.

We have never had 15 foals in one season here. The max was 7 - and that was a very long process… after which the BO agreed it would never happen again.

Foaling is the best of times… and the worst of times. All at once.

Can you even imagine breeding 15 mares if you didn’t have your own farm, a proper set up, long term full time knowledgeable staff to help, and if you had a separate full time business that required regular travel?

I can not fathom this.

I’ve only ever experienced foaling out one mare at a time. And this was at my own farm, or my family’s farm. We slept and lived onsite. Multiple people helped with foal watch. And were on hand if/when there were complications. And even then… it’s a lot.

That grey mare, the one with no tail that she was letting people ride, pains me greatly.

@Simkie agreed, I honestly think she won’t get more than 4k for even the “best” baby by the time this nightmare is over. I hope these poor horses are finally being fed. Such a disgusting human being. On another note, I found some videos of her being interviewed while braiding. If a face doesn’t match an attitude better than hers… :face_vomiting:

So this proves she feeds some of them. Which only makes that poor weanling who was skin and bones even more sad, since she seems to take care of some of her foals.

I don’t think these photos make the point she thinks she’s making :grimacing:

I agree… dull coats, ribby and unthrifty.

For pity’s sake, there is not ONE single animal in that post that looks good.
I hope they all find suitable homes where they can enjoy eating ALL the time.

Right? Rather than only after social media calls you out.

She will feed them some green, rich cattle hay for pics and then stop again. What point exactly is she trying to make? That she’s got hay and just hasn’t been feeding them?

omg there’s a little pinto pony. It is SO CUTE. That’s the one I want to rescue.

Absolutely. Registered section A welsh small coming 3 yo fill. $4500 you can take her  She is no need of rescue though lol

Is it normal for a field of that size to be grazed down to nothing at this point in the year in Ocala?

This is the mare bred to Hunter Holloway’s stallion. Imagine thinking that you will get a jumper from that mare.

Also imagine breeding the same mare (edited to add, not the above mare since Kate seems to have reading comprehension problems) to both DeNiro and For Pleasure. Both amazing horses, but polar opposites in what they bring to the table and what kind of mares they suit.

This is mental illness.

Absolutely appreciate every communication we have ever had from the beginning of my dutch breeding. There is a reason I blocked you many years ago. Not all “breeders” will get along but I do love watching you continue to follow me

Clearly you cannot read then about who was bred to who. But that is alright. I understand all the misunderstandings on this thread. Lots of talking from the same people lol

I’m sure it was because SixPound actually knows what she’s doing, and has the jumper and eventing results to prove it. And oh btw she feeds her horses.

Kate, your actions are indefensible, and I can read just fine. You need mental help. No one is following you because we enjoy this. We follow you because we’re genuinely concerned about the horses. As I noted in January of this year. Little did I know how bad it already was.

If you look behind in the pics the place was redoing my pastures. But regardless my horses get 20lbs of Arizona alfalfa a day, and round coastal bales to play with in pasture. In AZ there is no grass. So to me pasture means 0. It gives them nothing. But hey thats another interesting battle is people that have only lived southeast and what they feed versus people that know better and have fed western alfalfa and understand the differences. But hey lets leave that up to the nutritionists to argue on here right. Absolutely love how fast my fb hit here though.

In January of this year? What in godsname are you talking about? And no many breeders became very defensive because I chose to structure my breeding program differently than theirs. And there has been no feeding issues. The people that have been at the farm etc have a very different story than the crazy Fiona chick that has literally had animals seized from her by animal control for neglect. I have to admit though I am pretty exhausted with you coth keyboard warriors. Please do come to the farm anytime. Youre more than welcome!
