I think that rider conformation matters. Some of the ruffled shirts can make riders look top-heavy, which is not at all the impression we want to convey. I think you have to decide whether you need to look sleek and quiet, or you need some visual interest near your face/head. Really, the ride is not about YOU, it’s about your horse.
What’s a choker??
I don’t like the new ruffled shirts and stock ties. I don’t think they look good on anyone. I like a nice clean looking collar with a clean and neat looking stock tie. I tie my stock, but I’m not going to lie, it’s a pain. I don’t worry too much about getting it perfect, as long as it looks neat. Although, the last show I was at I actually managed to tie it perfectly and it looked great. I think that was a fluke. lol.
I do like the shirt that Arabian dressage posted with the plain collar with a single row of ruffles down the front - I think that looks quite nice.
I bought my pre-tied stock tie from this eBay seller, and I am very happy with it: http://www.ebay.com/usr/0126michelle1209?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754. She shipped super fast, even coming from the UK I had my stock tie within a week of placing my order.
My only complaint that they do run a bit small, but once I lost weight it fits perfectly. I have never washed mine, but it’s cotton so I don’t see why it couldn’t be thrown in the wash on cold.
I’ve decided to be a trend setter - I’m a convert from H/J land and had gotten lovely, at the time new/trendy snap collared shirts. Haven’t sold them as I was just too sad to think about it, so yeah, I’m going to embrace the rules and forego the frou-frou look! I can honestly say that the stock ties and the WHITE breeches, were the hardest parts of the conversion, lol

With the new integrated stand up collar rule, well not so new just people didn’t test it right away we have sold a number of these:
As a jacket covers the blue, this little shirt seems quite popular.
These seem to be a dressage rider favorite though:
I personally have the BVertigo Lorraine and ride in it, I love it.
If you go the stock tie route know there are stock ties that go on like a regular choke collar with the “pin” already integrated so they are a really fast on and off, like this one:

We had some of the crunch style that are so popular but we are waiting on a restock of those (they have little crystals on them so they sold fast, lol!)
Let me know if you have any other questions as I would be happy to help.[/QUOTE]
I have been drooling over the new DE catalog. Some of the new styles would look cute with my vintage diamond and emerald stock pin. Then I remember I’ve aged out of cute and don’t show anyway.
That Lorraine shirt is nice but they wouldn’t be legal when jackets are waived, would they?
I have a short neck and stock ties never were a good look on me. Come to think about it though foof on the chest isn’t either.
Sigh, sometimes I go shopping with my 30 something daughters and can’t help thinking “Once upon a time I could have really rocked that look”

Do you know what a ratcatcher is? They seem to be used in different geographic areas. The velcro/pin/button on collar used in hunt seat.

Yes am familiar with ratcatcher. That’s great if I can get away with just wearing one of those and no stock!
Thanks

You can just tie a stock over your snap/tech shirt. I tie one over a zip neck white tech shirt all the time for dressage shows. Of course, I’m also usually one of, if not the only, person actually tying an old-school stock tie rather than a velcro-on ruffle.
I’ve also done dressage schooling shows in a ratcatcher, too.
I tie my stock tie - it’s a synthetic FITS tie so it’s easy to wash and doesn’t need to be ironed. It’s very easy to tie a stock (I taught myself by watching videos online in about 10 minutes) and mine is soft and a bit stretchy, so it doesn’t choke me. I can wear it over any shirt, and have worn Nike zip-neck running shirts under my jacket when it’s cold.
That said, I like the look of the Goode Rider ruffle shirts and may get one to wear with vests for schooling shows, although my plain zip-neck show shirts or Nike running pullovers also work just fine for that.
OMG never knew they had integrated shirts, I love the idea!!
