Curious as to everyone’s take on the number of bags of shavings used with comfort stall mats ? I know they are an added bonus but still feel more shavings the better?
Does anyone have intel on the best way to bed these stalls?

I go by what is comfortable for my horses to get up without having to “swim” thru shavings.
One is foundered with a fractured sacrum. He is happy in 4-5 inches.
The other one has stifle/hock issues. He is good with 4-5 inches but can work with six inches if the shavings are finer.
I like pellet bedding with the comfort stall flooring. We used 3 bags per stall, adding water to the pellets before putting them down so they fluffed up like saw dust. So much easier to clean than shavings, too.
Interesting! I’m struggling with my horse not laying down to sleep for longer than 30 minutes. I love your suggestion, will try it out! Ty!
Thank you for your feedback! I’m doing 3 inches with the back wall banked with fluff. I’ll try increasing the depth.
