The 2015 AHS Annual Meeting will be held February 13-15 at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa. The three-day meeting will include seminars and presentations by industry professionals featuring a theme of keen interest to all riders and breeders: “Performance Horse Maintenance, Soundness and Conditioning.” Speakers will include Rich Fellers and Dr. Jack Snyder. Mr. Fellers is the first American in 25 years to win the Rolex/FEI World Cup Final, was the highest placing U.S. Equestrian at the London 2012 Olympic Games and earned the title of 2012 USEF Equestrian of the Year. Dr. Snyder, DVM, PhD, Diplomat American College Veterinary Surgeons, is a five-time horse veterinarian for the Olympic games. Dr. Snyder recently retired from the faculty at UC Davis veterinary school, where he taught for over 30 years. Since being the Head Surgeon at the 24th Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea he has served in numerous other professional roles, including Head Surgeon and Foreign Veterinary Delegate for the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico; President of the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington KY and Hospital Director of the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong.
The meeting venue is situated above the South Point Equestrian Center, which is also scheduled to also be hosting a Cutting Horse Futurity. Social events will include the Friday night Welcome Reception/Cocktail Party and the Saturday evening Awards Banquet highlighted by the popular Silent Auction. This lively auction offers fun and spirited bidding opportunities on a wide range of donated items, including items from Landgestüt Celle in Germany. Proceeds from the auction continue to benefit future annual meeting educational opportunities and Hanoverian promotion.
