If your horse is registered with USDF but you enter an Opportunity class at a rated show, does the score get recorded with USDF?
(Just curious - horse is unlikely to ever get sold so his permanent record is not really critical, but just curious as we are preparing to move up to First level and looking at a show with a judge we historically have not done well with)
I looked up the USEF rules and it looks like they should be reported:

Pursuant to Chapter 8, GR821.1, competitions must submit full results of all “opportunity” classes as required in Rule Chapter 12, GR1214:
”¢ “Opportunity” must be listed in the class name in the results.
Ӣ Full results are required -names of horses, riders, owners, and trainers are to be listed
including addresses, placings and scores, eliminations, etc.
Ӣ If they have them, horses and members with USEF numbers should be listed in the results. If
membership or HID information is missing, please leave the USEF number field blank.
However, I also looked up my mare’s scores on USDF and the opportunity class we did a few years ago doesn’t show up.

Again it doesn’t really matter, I think I just might feel a little more confident if they’re not recorded :lol: (We do have one schooling show to test it out before then, but I think I need to submit my entry for the rated show before the schooling one)
Hmmm… it’s been a while, and I think she did. I used her registered name, so anyone who really wanted to track down history could google and find the individual show results.
I suppose you could ask USDF if you really care. If you aren’t looking to sell in the near term, I’m not sure an opportunity class score will matter especially if you have a higher level show record later.

I totally agree, it doesn’t matter to anyone except me (and even me just barely)… it’s not like we don’t have a few less than stellar Training tests already :o
The opportunity classes I have ridden is recorded on USEF rider report. I am not sure about USDF, I do not believe I was a member when I rode them (nor am I currently) and searching I am not having anything come up for me, but I also rode them 6 years ago.
