Ororo Heated vest

Does anyone ride in one of these? Does the battery pack annoy you in any way? I have been thinking about buying but some of the reviews indicate the battery pack is in an uncomfortable place on their hip. Not sure how that woudl be when riding.

My trainer got one a few weeks ago and loves it. I’d think it would be no different than riding with your phone.

I LOVE MINE! The battery pack does not bother me, I’m used to caring around those stupid huge iPhones in my other pocket.

I bought the ORORO and returned it for a few reasons: It was very long, the collar was really high, and the battery was heavy. I bought a different brand, AKASO. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XRCY78M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I’m very happy with it. It’s shorter, the battery is lightweight, and the collar isn’t as high. It works perfectly. Plus, it’s very warm on its own, so in more moderate weather (30s, 40s) I don’t need to turn it on.

Have you had any problems with the battery being in your way in the saddle? Or with the unit turning off?

No, the battery is quite thin and goes in a separate pocket on the left that faces to the back. The unit has never turned off unless I’ve left it on long enough for the battery to run out. That happened once last year when I had neglected to charge the battery before I went out. I do have to charge it almost every day I want to use it and it takes a little while, but it’s a small amount of trouble for the warmth.

Last question sorry! I normally wear a women’s medium (broad shoulders and strong arms…) but I’m on the smaller side of medium (5’5", 127 lbs) by the look of the measurement chart I would still wear a medium. Many comments say it runs small. How did your sizing work out?

It is snug, no question. I wear a size small, bought a small, and wouldn’t want it any smaller. I’m 5’4", 117, small arms and bust.

Here are two pics of the battery, to give you an idea of the size.

How washable are these heated vests? Are there any special instructions or things to avoid?

they seems to be totally washable… I just ordered the Akaso…

I just got one for Christmas and it’s the best!!! I’m already spending so much more time outside and I’m comfortable. For me it fits true to size it’s a little snug over a hoodie but fits like a normal medium by itself. The battery pack weighs about as much as a phone and it’s not in a location where I can feel it riding.

I have had a few heated vests. Last year I bought an Ororo and after a short time it would not turn on. Sometimes it would turn on and then turn off within a few minutes. The battery was charged but there must have been a problem with the connection. It was disappointing. I had bought it on clearance and did not pursue getting it fixed.

As to the battery pack, that never bothered me and it was comfortable to wear when riding.

Both my DD & I got Ororo vests (the lighter weight one without the hood).
The battery is much smaller than what you show in your photos.
I’m short 5’ 2 ish. & the length is just right & the collar doesn’t sit up any higher than a polo shirt collar.

According to their size chart I was in between a med & lg, so went with the lg as I’m rather busty.
Had to return it for the medium, which fits great.
