It’s really about the horse in front of you, but sure, just about everyone in your horse’s first three generations go back to classics who are known for jumping and athleticism. I always love seeing In Reality, Northern Dancer, Unbridled, and although some criticize Raise A Native for unsoundness, I love him in a pedigree. The horses I mentioned are great for their contributions to race breeding. I don’t really know much about sport horse breeding. Hopefully someone will chime in about those horses who are desirable in sport horse breeding.
But in the end, it really depends on the horse in front of you and the conformation and disposition he inherited.
