Hello everyone. We have recently gotten into the ottb world. Absolutely love these amazing horses. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on either of our geldings pedigrees. Any info at all would be appreciated! We have minimal knowledge of bloodlines with these guys and are learning as we go.
Hi @Nektosho, I’m Deny’s breeder and I’m more than happy to discuss his bloodlines. Though he was bred with racing in mind, he was also bred to be an athlete. His sire, Include, is known for producing strong, sound, durable horses. His dam. Classic West, raced only 3 times which was due not to basic unsoundness but to really shi&&y farrier work when she was at the track. Her left front foot was a bit clubby and the farrier kept taking the heel off. Once retired, she was a sound (and beautiful) mare.
Deny’s full brother, Dukes Up, had 40 starts through the age of 7 (with earnings of 250k+) which also speaks to the suitability of that breeding to produce an athlete. Duke has a great mind: calm, easy going, and eager to do whatever is asked of him. We sold Deny when he was a yearling, but up until that point he had been very much like his full brother. Deny, when I knew him, was handsome and very correct. He wasn’t the tallest yearling, but he was a good mover with good bone and a good brain. I hope that helps!

Lovely pedigrees, quality bred TBs both of them. Several ancestors well known for jumping talent too on both of them. Good buys on your part! The yearling pic of Deny is lovely! Good luck with them, I hope you light the h/j/event world on fire with these guys.

How cool is it when you ask about a horse’s bloodline and the breeder answers? I love the COTH community! Deny is a very pretty boy, by the way.
