I was so surprised she didn’t chase the lure as shes very visual and loves to run, but she just seemed to lock eyes with me and came running. It was hard for her to hear me as it was so loud with all the dogs barking/distractions, but once she learned I was at the end, she was very confident and seemed to really enjoy it. She was for sure the heaviest dog there
but her times for the 2nd and 3rd run were pretty good and she was on par with most of the other dogs. There was a greyhound that ran in just over 7 seconds (almost 50km/hr)!
I actually don’t really know the rules. I know if you cross the timer line, you don’t get a qualifying run, and therefore no points or ribbon. I suppose of they stop to pee, it would just kill your time and you would get less points at the end. I think as long as you don’t interfere with them running and cross any of the timing lines, all is good. I kinda liked this one as I never did any training and it was something that I could do with her and she has a great prey drive so it was up her alley as well. I would love to try agility or something else with her, but with my horses and farm, I just can’t seem to find the time for all the training needed.
