Out Smart Fly repellent?

Its brand new so doubt anyone has much experience with it yet…

I tried it a few years ago when it was first out and I really liked it. When they pulled it from the market I was really bummed. I just saw that they have it out again… May be a different formulation now but I plan to purchase some this week.

Any info on why the original formula was pulled from the market? I’ve been seeing ads for it in all the magazines.

I’d have my doubts it would work, I want sprays that kill not just repel. I tried some natural spray it did absolutely nothing to repel flys.

I thought I heard at the skin that some horses had skin reactions to it. I didn’t have any such issues and was using it on some pretty sensitive skinned horses.

I haven’t tried the Out Smart but I have heard that it smells really nice.

The best all natural fly sprays that I’ve found so far are CLAC and EcoVet. I dilute the CLAC at about 3 parts water to 1 part concentrate but you can dilute up to 7:1 or use full strength if I recall correctly. A liter of CLAC makes about a gallon of spray so it’s a little cheaper than the OutSmart. EcoVet is expensive but you use less so a bottle lasts longer.

I usually spray the EcoVet on every morning. It’s really strong so I just lightly mist on legs, belly, tail, and poll area. My drafty with a mild gnat allergy gets a bit rubbed around his eyes and under his chin as well. I use the CLAC every evening. Since I started this routine, my sensitive guy doesn’t need a fly mask anymore. I do keep a bottle of Ultrashield EX for rainy days and my boy wears his fly mask on those days.

Best of luck on finding a product that works for you, OP! If you try the Out Smart, please update to tell us about it.
