Outdoor grooming/tack areas - show me yours?

Currently tying to the fence, lugging everything back and forth from tiny barn (too small for tack up area) to pasture where I ride. Far enough away that it’s annoying, so I want to make a dedicated space, on the cheap.

I have some plastic fence posts (the heavy duty kind, loom like a cedar wood post), some rubber mats and the side or front of my wee barn.

What do you have? This will be a fair weather area.

Before we moved to our current little farm, all I had was a tree. I called it my hitching tree
It was only a few yards from the garage where I kept tack and grooming stuff.
Now I have a barn aisle but am thinking about setting something up outside…sometimes you want the brighter daylight

Haha, I also have a hitching tree. But it seriously sucks.

I always liked this set up from a previous boarding barn. The separator between the grooming stalls was two boards with a mesh bottom between for brush storeage.

Can you just put a tie ring on the outside wall of the tiny barn and put one of your rubber mats on the ground there?

Yes, I can for sure. I just like the idea of it feeling formal. But that is how it will start.

We have an outdoor wash stall that doubles as a grooming area. I can try and nab pics on Tuesday, but it is two 4x4s as crosstie supports, with 2-board sides. Back side is a fence due to location. Base is gravel (I think 6-8”), with mats on top. We do have to be careful that organics are cleaned out so they don’t clog the gravel. I think it looks quite nice. Here, it’s only really usable for 3 seasons.

We have a couple of hooks for bridles and a temporary saddle rack that hangs off the top rail. Adjacent is a plastic shelving unit for sponges, buckets and scrapers, which makes it convenient to put a grooming tote or other items on top. Before we had that, I used a folding table off Amazon.
