This might be a stupid question, but we were thinking of painting our wash rack black and I was just wondering if that would make the area there hotter? We already have the black rubber mats and there’s not trees or shade it sits out completely in the sun, so with the wood painted black and the black rubber mats is that going to make the wash rack area feel hotter?

I can not imagine it would make much difference with it being wide open.

Agree, no material difference. The question I would have is how well will the black paint hold up with water getting sprayed on it, and weather? What about a stain on the wood - or is it already painted? You can get black stain.
