Ovation Aqua-X alternative? Or....summer breeches

Somehow, I just recently discovered the Ovation Aqua-X breeches, right as they are disappearing from every possible location to order them from. :sob: I didn’t realize how freaking hot and sweaty my TS Trophy Hunters were until I rode in the Ovations! What a difference!

But, since I can’t find them - what is the next best thing for summer breeches? Mid-rise, sock bottom, NOT tights, belt loops, Euro seat…I’m scouring eBay and FB groups for any leftover Ovations, but not having much luck…

I’ve got a pair of Kerrits GripTek and the Crossover breeches and love them both. They’re very breathable and wick nicely. Sometimes the inside of the seat gets a little stickier from sweat than I’d like, since that part’s not breathable, but they’ve got a “cooling” breech (called Ice Fil) that has a printed silicone seat and I expect that would resolve the issue and meet your needs. There’s also a tights version of it, so make sure you’re looking at the right one!

Ok, so after seeing the endless suggestions for the Aqua-X over the last few summers, I snagged a pair last week. For once I was only thinking of my swamp bra situation! The breeches feel better than any I have from Kerrits, TS, Horze, etc for hot weather. They are also still breeches, not pull on tights. I am in my late 30s and don’t like the “pull on tight nakedness feeling.”

I ordered last week from Riding Warehouse. Any luck there?

Nope…I got one pair from RW, but they don’t have any more in my size. :grimacing: Then thought I found another pair at RW, and they ended up sending me a pair that was 2 sizes too small and clearly a customer return. Ugh.

I’m just surprised there isn’t a replacement for these, given how popular they seem to be…

I find the Ariat Tri-Factors to be way cooler than any of my other pairs (and I love the way they look.) Also really like my Strucks for hot weather but they are $$$ - and frankly not as comfy as the Ariats!
