Ovation Lugano Saddle?!

Hi there!

I am currently looking for my coming 3 y/o first saddle and I came across the Ovation Lungano Saddle.
Was wondering if any of you had or has this saddle currently and if so what are your thoughts on it?

My filly has a good size wither and slightly curved back.
She still have the slimmer shoulders as she did not start bulking yet.

Any help or advice is appreciated :).

I didn’t have the Lugano, but the Ovations didn’t fit the slightly curvy backs - fit great on the flatter WB backs. Accommodated the withers okay, just too straight for my not that extremely curvy but not straight backed horses. Fit a friend’s big withered WB great and loaned it to her until she bought her own - needed more forward flaps than mine, then sold it. But they are great quality for the price, IF they fit.

Thanks for the reply!
It’s difficult to find good detailed reviews on this brand.

I don’t think she will keep the slightly curvy back to be honest although I think it’ll be hard to find her a saddle that will fit her perfectly for a while, I’d probably upgrade to something a little more on the high end as time goes.

Do you remember the model that you had and the year?

It was the Evolution XCH - nice, covered leather. I don’t think they sell it anymore? But it was very comfy for me - sad it didn’t fit my horse!

The Ovations are built on the same trees as the Pessoas, so if that brand fits your horse, the Ovation should too. IMO, they fit a moderate back - not flat, not really dippy, but in between.

I’ve always found the quality to be excellent for the price. They have a lifetime tree warranty, too. The XCH tree could be a good option for you since your horse is young.

Amazing, thanks again for your response it`s very helpful!

Oh great! I would not know how the Pessoa fits on her since it’s her first saddle.
Glad to hear that they are good for the price though, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

I think I’m going to give it a go.
Thank you!

FYI - the Evolutions had a totally different tree than the current lineup of Ovation saddles.
