Anybody have any of these breeches and if so do you like them?
I havent seen these at all, can you put up a link?
Funny! I just posted on another topic about the wide range of breeches now and fabrics – certainly come a long way! I have been impressed with Ovation in the past, but I have not tried this type. I would love to hear about them though!
I would love to hear more about them, but I even find control top pantyhose uncomfortable so I’m not sure I would be willing to risk $100 on a pair.
Oh man, I love how they show a model who is wearing them so loose. How about using a woman who actually needs slimming breeches?
Being a short and stocky person myself, I find it frustrating to find the right pair of breeches when looking through catalogs. Of course people who are 5’9" with stick thin legs look perfect in them… but the majority of us who have different body types don’t look anything like that (or as good!).
The company’s website shows them on a more fuller figured model.

I have a few friends that have them, post baby, and LOVE them. Said they are comfy for what they are and make them feel like they aren’t busting out from under their hunt coats.
horsegal301, I thought the same thing. The model is a stick! Like she needs slimming breeches. Funny.
Maybe the model in the Dover ad had a belly before she put them on and that is just how good they really are. Just kidding
Well, I just ordered a pair, so I’ll let you know…

If that’s a “more fuller figured” model, my Size 12-to-14 booty must mean that I’m a “more grossly obese” model.
Please let us know how you like them Hasahorse!!
If you go to the Ovation Riding facebook page and look through the images that others have posted, you will see some pics from people who won their “be a test rider” contests for the Slim Secrets.
www.facebook.com/ovationriding The one girl with the taupe breeches and navy polo looks awesome!

I meant versus the Dover model,, not real life!

Versus the Dover model, a pattern-size 4 would be full figured. The stylist didn’t even try to pad out her behind. The Ovation model is probably a six but yeah, next to the Dover girl she looks zaftig.
And those of us in the 12-14 range ARE grossly obese, as far as most equestrian clothesmakers are concerned, unless we’re 5’9"+ (and then everything’s probably too short.)

My thoughts exactly!
I got the pair I ordered yesterday and rode in them last night. Wow. Great fit, they look good, and they are comfortable. When I first got them out of the package the fabric felt heavy, but once they are on, I think they are cooler than other breeches I have worn. They are true to size. I wear a 36 in TS, and the 36 in the Slim Secret fits perfectly. I think I may try the next size up with the next pair just to have them a little bit baggy. There is no velcro on the bottom, just an elastic band - it was almost a little too tight for my liking, but I like that it gives a smooth seem under my boots. I was hoping for a miracle that these would suck my calves in enough that I could get my tall boots on, but alas, the only sucking seems to be around my midsection - not a bad thing at all!
I like them so much better than TS with the exception of 2 things: The closures at the waistband are hard to get undone. Luckily, I could shimmy out of them when I got home to get them off. There is a different fabric on the back of the calf - it seems to be vented - but it rubbed my leg and was uncomfortable while I was riding. I had short socks on, so it might be different if I wear tall socks.
I will definately be getting additional pairs of these breeches.
Just a public service announcement - VTO has these breeches and if you spend $100, you get 20% off this weekend. All sales final though, so buyer beware.
Yup, St. Croix Saddlery has some of these in stock too I believe. They are having a sale until Sunday. 25% off all purchases. I actually like the different fabric on the calf – however, I did ride with tall zocks and I had no problems with rubs at all. In fact, I prefer the different bottom now so that I don’t ruin all my socks with the velcro closure and have to worry about stuffing the velcro in evenly.
Just in case the review gets lost in the many pages of the Womanly Riders thread, I will repeat it here just for the search function.
A review of the Ovation Celebrity Slim Secret full seat breeches. WOW! I love them! After gaining some weight because of cancer treatment, I am in a transitional weight. So I needed some breeches that are slimming without the dreaded camel toe. At the annual local tack sale, I decided to try the Ovation Celebrity Slim Secret full seats in black. They are really nice for a shorter and curvy figure. I’m 5’2" and I wear the size 32.
My ample behind is fully covered and the waist sits just at the belly button (covering). The hips fit perfectly and the waist does not gape. The inseam falls right at my ankle and the rise is perfect.
The legs are firm but move almost as well as my Tailored Sportsman’s. I was pleasantly surprised at this because usually slimming breeches are stiff and unmoving. I suspect the knee patch ones will move even better.
Also, the full seat gave added warmth while riding today at 40 degrees F. I give them two thumbs up. I will be looking to add a few more to my wardrobe until I can lose enough weight to fit back into my TS.
FYI, I rode with tall socks too so I didn’t have any issue with rubbing from the thin fabric on the calves.
