Any reviews on Ovation’s boots? I have monster calves and they actually carry a pair that will fit and not break the bank. I don’t want to just be throwing money away, though. Anyone with experience?
I have a pair of Ovation flex sports. I like them - I have a size 7 foot and 14+ inch muscular calves, and the size 7W fits fine. The ankle isn’t as tapered as it could be, but they are fine for the price. I wanted affordable zip up tall boots that fit my small feet and wide calves. I got blisters breaking them in, but adding inserts that lifted my heels helped. One of the boots has developed some wrinkles in the leather on the inner calf while the other boot is smooth, which I suspect is related to using budget leather. Overall, as someone on a budget who occasionally shows in local schooling shows, these boots were a nice option.
I have the Ovation Finalist Pro (I think that’s what they’re called). I’ve had them for a few months now, and they are pretty decent for the price, I purchased on sale for under $100. I got the 7.5W - they are a good fit on my calves but they do gape at the top. I am 5’2" and they are just a tad tall still but have dropped about .75". The leather is okay. One has some wrinkling on top of the toe. They are actually quite comfortable. The first few times I rode them for easy half hour rides and I didn’t have any pain or blisters.
