Over thinking this - Repainting the wheel barrow

I was dumpster diving of sorts and scored a nice wheel barrow - Steel, construction type, flat tire - Christmas shopping for the BO is done!

I hate, hate, hate his - it’s the kind with the wood rotted & the bolts sticking up through the partially rusted bottom, & travels a little drunken. It’s for manure, so not something that will ever get replaced on its own though.

So the one I picked up needs a little work. It needs some new paint & I’m completely overthinking this - Rustoleum on the outside obviously. I was toying with either spraying the inside with a can of bed liner, water barrier or just 3 layers of paint. Thoughts?

I’d just paint the sucker. Make sure it is CLEAN beforehand and rough up whatever surface is there. Prime if it is bare metal.

Bedliner would last more abuse, but I really feel like the inside of a wheelbarrow should be slick. I’d just do three coats of Rustoleum.

Just use the Rustoleum overall…simple, easy and it will look nice.

The best part of the gift will be that you’ll replace that flat tire with a solid tire. I changed my home wheelbarrow a few years ago and will never go back to inflated.

Yea I agree with this 110%…I just did the same with the two front tires on my ZTR mower. Worth every penny.
