Overnight Fly Mask

Mares allergies are hitting hard this year. I think the evening gnats aren’t helping and she’s rubbing her face absolutely raw.

I love her Rambo long nose with ears during the day but she’s pretty spooky in it over night. I think likely she has some vision changes.

Any recommendations on a mask that might maximize visibility overnight? I don’t want to create undue stress but also would rather she didn’t take out an eye furiously rubbing.

Rustle lived in the stretchy lycra ones last summer. He has a collection. He has 24/7 turnout.

What about one of those that’s designed for use inside a barn where they leave the lights on all night? It’s a reddish shield rather than a mesh.

Or you could consider an eye guard. Protective pet products has a great clear plastic eye guard that also would keep out all but very small bugs. I have a horse who has had multiple eye problems and she’s has worn one of them 24/7 at times we are battling eye issues. They sell an extra padding kit that I like to pad the bridge of their nose.

Maybe those Cashel Quiet Ride masks… they have much better visibility, since they’re designed to use while riding.
