A group of us would like to take our horses on vacation to trail ride. I have been searching the internet but I haven’t had much luck finding places that have accommodations. I am looking for stalls or paddocks for the horses and cabins for us. It would be ideal if the farm backed up to a national park. I have ridden at Gettysburg so I am looking for somewhere different. Thanks!
Several Virginia state parks have horse trails and camping. Douthat State Park near the West Virginia border has nice stalls and cabins with electricity and AC for rent. One person must stay in campground by stalls with horses while horses are there. The park trails connect the the Allegheny highland trail for more riding. There are plenty of bear in the area, FYI. Attached is more info.
