Will OxyClean sterilize fabric the way bleach does?
I’ll be doing some laundry that needs to be sterilized, but can not use bleach on this fabric.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

NOTE: Oxygen-based bleaches (Oxiclean, Clorox 2, Tide Oxi are brand names) do not provide disinfectant qualities when used in home laundry processes.
You could try boiling it if it’s small enough to fit in a pot you have access too. Not 100% sterilized, which I don’t think you can really get outside of a commercial type thing, but sanitized for sure. Depending on size, if you have a pressure cooker or canner, you might get beyond sanitized by putting it in there to process for a while. The steam under pressure raises the temperature beyond boiling.
No, it won’t sterilize. But boiling will.
Thanks everyone.
I’m pretty sure boiling will shrink this fabric? It’s linen. Off to formulate plan B.
Linen and cotton can be boiled. A friend of mine used to buy embroidered tea towels, napkins, table cloths and pillow cases at garage sales and flea markets. She made sure they were cotton or linen and boiled them all. Her purpose was to remove stains which is interesting because normally, you wash with cold water for that, but everything came out looking great. All the brown spots and yellowing would come out. They were usually white except for the embroidery, if that matters.
Here’s an article about boiling and using Oxyclean:
