Padded Crownpiece bridle for TB with Big Head - suggestions?

The time has come to get a new dressage bridle for the giant (18h) TB I’m riding…and I think Mr. Sensitive Ears would like a bridle with a padded crownpiece. Although he has a giant head for a TB, I think an Oversize would likely be too big for him…so I’m looking for suggestions for generously sized full size bridles with padded crown’s …any suggestions?

Thanks!

Dressage Extensions has nice one thats not too pricey, I think it was $189 or so. Of course I can’t find the catalog this morning! My draft X wears the full size in it (the oversize are too big for her in most brands-she doesn’t have a real drafty head though). Anyways, I’ve had that bridle for 3 years, used pretty much every day and it’s in great shape. It was super soft out of the box. Very happy with it.

I have the Heritage Comfort in oversized- you might be wanting something higher end, but it’s nice and soft and definitely comfortable!

The Kieffers come up a decent size - you need to get the WB size.

I have the Albion KB Bridle and love it…

drafttack.com has some nice bridles right now. They have “small draft” and “large draft” sizes, my draft (17hh) mare wears the “small draft” size. She has a pretty fine head for her breed and wore the warmblood size in most Hunter brands.

My mare is also sensitive in the poll. The double I just purchased is an Arc d’Triumphe - pricey but nice headstall - maye something like that.

I bought the Keiffer padded crown bridle from Dressage Extenstions but it broke during my second ride. Then I tried their house brand Buffalo leather padded crown which a sales rep recommended but I didn’t like the quality, so exchanged one more time and got the Kavalkade comfort padded snaffle bridle for $199 and I really like it. I got the horse size and its MORE than big enough for my warmblood. Once it breaks in more, I will probably need to add holes to make it fit, so I think you might have good look in just the horse size as it is generously sized.

Love love love them, and you can order different pieces of different sizes from Advanced Saddle Fit - www.advancedsaddlefit.com.

Dressage Extensions (and others) also sell padded crownpiece “adaptors” that just fit around your current bridle. They range in price from something like $15-35, depending on the materials.

I bought a bridle from Newportridingsupply.com and it was fit to my horse. You can see my thread about it titled I bought the “Dressage Today Bridle”, LOL.

I like the “mix and Match” sizing. their leather is great. and the crown nicely padded.

I have a warmblood sized bridle with padded crown that was ordered custom and is too big for the client’s horse. I sent you a PM if you are interested.

The Laser bridle is a good one and fits my large headed TB well, and it’s less expensive than the Albion which is also a very nice bridle.

I’ve also always drooled over the Jeffries IR (elevator) bridle.

Drool.
