On top of all the other misery in my life, I found my beloved paint horse dead in the barnyard 2 weeks ago. 19 years young, fine at 9 p.m. the night before. He really, temperament wise, was the best horse I ever had.
His breeder registered him with APHA as Qtons McBars 885,774 and then he was sold to someone who did not transfer the registration. I don’t show, so I didn’t either.
Can anybody help me find whether there are any siblings or offspring of his around? The breeder was John P. Hynes in Dansville, N.Y. My horse might have sired some foals, I think his 2nd owner got him gelded.
I know there is no guarantee that a relative would have a similar temperament, but this is the only thing I can think of that might help heal my broken heart.
Your horse has no registered offspring. His dam shows that he is her only foal. His sire had several other foals:
I’m so sorry…
I am very sorry for your loss.
Rebecca
Thank you so much. Is there a way to find out who has Sugar Bar Jade?
I am so so sorry.
I’m sorry for the loss of your wonderful Paint. Those great horses sure leave a hole in our heart when they leave us.
I looked up his pedigree and there’s mostly good old foundation stock type horses in there. Lots of good “using” horses that did an honest day’s work but not a lot of big name show horses. However… on your horse’s dam side is Executive Producer who was, back in the day, a highly regarded stallion.
I happened to find a Paint horse breeding farm in, I believe, upstate New York that has an older broodmare by Executive Producer on their “mares” page. Her name is Executive Blue Bayou. If the farm is still around, they might be able to give you info on how to find some of her foals.

If you can’t find something related to your sweet horse, I’d suggest looking at Paints bred with working ranch lines, not necessarily the current, fashionable show bloodlines. Good luck and I wish you the best and lots of good memories of your beloved horse.
That’s really tough. I’m so sorry.
You are so kind!
I managed to call the original breeder of my boy. My boy’s sire, Sky McBars, was his personal riding horse and a great personality like my boy.
But weirdly, he told me his horse was found dead just like my boy, perfectly fine and then suddenly gone. So I’m wondering if there was something genetic.
Anyway, talking to his breeder made me feel better. I told him what a great horse my guy turned out to be. He was happy to hear he bred such a good animal.
I found a lot of information on my 1994 Paint gelding on All-breed Pedigree
You can get free 5 generation pedigrees and progeny reports. Memberships aren’t that expensive and you can get a lot more detialed information. I found Man o’ War in my gelding’s pedigree and he shows up on the list of most influential genetic contributors.
I’m so sorry.
I cannot (I can only see registered owners from horses with offspring; she is not listed as having produced any APHA registered offspring), but APHA could likely help you.
Thanks
