Can a round of powerpak cause GI discomfort? Mainly ulcers.
There is Quest.
There is a Power Pack.
There is a single dose of Quest.
There is a double dosing for 5 consecutive days of fenbendazole for a Power Pack.
The latter is far more likely to cause GI issues, than the former.
A Power Pack kills encysted strongyles (assuming no resistance) where they are imbedded, and the dead bodies decay and leave little ulcers.
Moxidectin - Quest/Plus - paralyzes, so the encysted strongyles are expelled
Sorry, I have tired brain…I mean panacur power pack.
The answer is definitely “yes it could”.
It’s most often seen around Day 14, but could start a bit earlier.
I’m past day 14. Horse just not the same. Showing more ulcer type behavior …just hasn’t been the same since getting the wormer
What day is it? The die-off can also release toxins that can disrupt the gut flora
I’m almost two months after completing treatment …so approximately 60ish days.
At 2 months out it is possible you have an issue that is progressing. How old is this horse? Why did you power pack in December, Was the horse feeling or looking dull?
I would consult with a vet
Yep, time for a vet
