PanAms

https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/news/detail/pan-american-games-2019-schedule/

I just found this and they are giving NO mention of any equestrian events till the second week, and then it is Beezy Madden mentioned. I looked up Pan Ams and found what I think was an ‘official’ website, listing ALL events, NOT listing equestrian events at all.

On the PanAms site, you are right, they don’t list the equestrian events at all. On the schedule, they just lumped all of them into an “Equestrian” category. Shame.

cbcsports.ca has all day coverage, but I haven’t been able to find a schedule of events.

currently showing highlights from yesterday

I hadn’t realized how far south Lima is - temperatures should be quite good for the horses, but I imagine the flight will be quite long.

cbc.ca is blocked in USA for me. any other ideas??

who IS covering it here in the US

If you select Equestrian from the top drop down here, it breaks out all the specific events on the schedule.
https://www.lima2019.pe/en/results

It has all the dressage and jumping events listed, but for ease of viewing, here are eventing times.
Lima is on same time as US Central time (well… right now! No DST there)

8/1 - 1st Inspection, 9am
8/2 - Dressage, 9am
8/3 - Cross Country, 11am
8/4 - 2nd Inspection, 8am
8/4 - Stadium, 10am

Schedule, results are here; https://www.lima2019.pe/en/results

Click on the circles in the schedule.
Medals are for prize giving.

It looks like ESPN has the US broadcast rights, but this article has no mention of Equestrian :frowning:

… and back to baseball
the stad![](um where baseball is being held was built on the outskirts of Lima in an impoverished area. The housing of the favela immediately behind the stadium is a startling background.

Looks horrible; https://earth.google.com/web/@-12.16971674,-76.91930839,293.37198058a,6013.78453266d,35y,-0h,0t,0r/data=ChIaEAoIL20vMGxwZmgYASABKAI

I just called USEF and was told she thought the FEI was covering it. I said OK, and hung up as I was scrambling for their web site No dice. So while they can cover 3* in Europe, a big deal on this side of the world is unimportant.

Per EN there’s no live stream for eventing

Boo! That’s a bummer. I was hoping there would be at least part of it streamed.

and yet there is streaming for surfing, roller blading, water skiing, “artistic swimming”,(WTH is that?)

Artistic swimming appears to be an updated name for what used to be called synchronized swimming…which I’d much rather watch than roller blading or water skiing or surfing. But what I would most like to watch is eventing…

Is COTH covering the jogs?

Athletux has some videos on their Instagram stories - all the US horses were accepted in the jog this AM and it looks like all of Team Canada and Mexico were as well (they didn’t post individual stories for each rider of those teams, but said the team was accepted so I’m making that inference).

thanks. I am surprised there is no coverage of the jog by coth or en. I guess it just shows how much we have all come to depend on video.
