The schedule is tough to find but I think competitions begin sept 11…anyone following any riders?
No interest in our team? I’m especially cheering for Annie Peavy.
Roxanne Trunnell. Met her in Caen. What a go-getter!
According to NBCSN, I think the paralympics overall start on the 7th…
I’ll be following this thread because I’m very interested and have huge interest. My friend (who is paralyzed from waist down but is still a FAR better rider than I am) didn’t make it, so I’m not getting the info on when everything is… So much respect to the men and women who get out there and get it done while I whine and complain about my little issues.
They really deserve so much more attention. All heroes, to me! Wonderful horses, too

I do think that the athleticism is becoming more well known thanks to tv bites.
The level is so high, that able bodied athletes would find it tough to be as good in the wheelchair sports. Swimmers are outstanding, by anybody’s standards.
Once it starts, I think we will pick up enthusiasm, but right now we are a bit Olympics burned out. I hope, anyway.
I’ll be rooting for Robyn Andrews from St. John’s, Newfoundland! She’s had the most amazing journey to get here and I’m so proud of her I could burst!
^^^ this is what inspires enthusiasm for the Para Olympics. Courage and amazing journeys.
Rooting for all of Team USA, and my hometown girls Becca Hart and Gigi McIntosh in particular. Becca has come as close as 4th place in the past and has a legitimate chance at medalling on her new horse this year, given her results in the past year against the top Europeans in her grade.
Im living in London now and very excited that Channel 4 has committed to broadcasting some 600 hours of Paralympic coverage, which I HOPE includes dressage (it should, as the Brits totally dominate the sport, so one would think the hometown crowd might like to see them winning). They just released this cool trailer to promote it:

That’s disappointing. Maybe the riders will post on their FB pages

Me too! Gigi had a pretty good team test yesterday, Becca rides her team test today! Overall US team standing not what they were hoping right now, but Becca will hit it out of the park, her new mare is really wow and she is an insanely good rider. Hopefully that will help their team score, and I think she could definitely medal individually as well! Super proud of Gigi for all her hard work, it’s unreal what goes into them getting there and it’s so nice to see all her efforts paying off! Go USA!

I’ll be rooting for 67-year old Anne Dunham and her Knabstrupper, Lucas Normark.[/QUOTE]
