Parco, Darco's son...

Has anyone bred to Parco? How is his semen quality?

From what I have read Parco seems to be of better character then his father.

I haven’t heard of the mothers side of Parco except for Alme.

I just love his way of going and think he is a breathtaking jumper.

How do you think he would cross with a refined TB?

I found a few pictures of offspring, but none in the US. I was just curious if anyone has been using this stallion.

I know Showjumppers66 - Silver Creek Farms have several Parco foals and another in foal to him this year.

You might want to PM her and check out her website.

We think he crosses very well with blooded mares.
Semen is good.

just looked at your website! Parco and Winning Mood are beautiful!

Winning Mood looks just as intriguing as Parco. Thoughts?

It would be Cassini versus Alme on their mother side. What are the differences?

I don’t know a lot about bloodlines.

Alme was always known to bring the hotter horse… Cassini being a Capitol I son would probably bring more ridability…

I figured that.

It does say that Parco was much better then Darco in the rideability department.

Have to say that I do like a lot of Cassini offspring I have seen. Winning Mood does look a lot like Parco. I would like to see a video of him.

Love the videos of Parco. He looks like so much fun to ride, and that jump!

Here is the link to Winningmood - there is a video link on there - he looks pretty cool.

Wow, that is all I can say! For 7 years old and to go around like that! Amazing. He is following in his fathers footsteps!

He does look very similiar to Parco. They are both very nice. I wish I could find more offspring pictures for both stallions. I know that they have auctions with videos, but I just don’t know where to look!

It will be interesting to see what Parco produces compared to this new stallion.

Neither seem dominant for grey, so you would have a chance to get other colors too.

Does anyone have any offspring with these bloodlines?

Darco or Cassini I mean?

I know that Cunningham is by Cassini.

I really like the cross on paper. Seems to be a great cross for a TB.

There is also Cascani who is a Cassini I son doing well - he is October Hill and then there is Simsalabim who is a Non Stop son - Non Stop is by Darco.

Then Sim has several approved sons - one is Cielo B out of a Jus de Pomme mare.

There is also Douglas… he is at VDL…

Karandasj is a son of Fedor and he is a son of Darco… he is available via frozen.

Jimtown is a Darco son - I think you can get him via Frozen.

Orlando is interesting as he has Darco in his dam line…

Berlin you can get now - as a Cassini I son.

As for offspring I know folks have quite a few Cassini II offspring around.

Windsor farms has Darco semen and have been breeding with it and have foals on the ground from 2007 and 2008. Here is their website: http://www.windsorfarm.net/

There is Darco semen in the US - not sure of the quality.

Thanks.

I lover Berlin too, but at 3250 euros a pop, I am not going there!

Berlin has a son Zurich that is also quite interesting. He has Concorde on his mothers side.

I have a partial dose of Parco that I am waiting to try. The person I purchased it from said it is of very good quality. We’ll see… But, based on my luck with frozen I may just leave it in the tank!!!

I am seriously thinking about buying either Winning Mood or Eurocommerce Zurich frozen and keeping it until I can breed my mare again. They are both just starting out there show and breeding careers. It may be a good investment for me to buy it now before it gets over 2000 euros!

Darco/Cassini cross or a Cassini/concorde cross…

What do you think?

Cassini II is also producing some nice foals. I am going to do some research on these three.

Any info on these would be helpful!

Eish, I’m probably going to be lambasted for this, but here goes.

If you look at the Holsteinverband’s homepage, they will tell you that Cassini II is ‘better than’ Cassini I (who was, IMO, a fantastic sire of top showjumpers).

But I can’t find a single Cassini II jumping in the 1.50m classes in Europe. In fact, there are very few in the 1.30m classes.

Cassini II is not a young stallion, either, so by now he should have produced more than he has. I think an awful lot of Cassini II’s popularity lies in his advertising.

I would agree. Advertising fools a lot of people! That is why I am trying to get firsthand info on these stallions!

my money is precious to me so I want to make the right choice!

One thing I really would like to know is the temperament that these stallions throw. I have a fancy hot tb mare and they say to breed to hot types, but I don’t know how much of that to listen too!

I can’t tell you how many stallions sites I have seen and been really impressed only to see numerous offspring and be dumbfounded!

Here is a very complete listing of Parco.

“Parco brings size, bones, scope, strength and cool temperaments.”

Not sure on the others you are looking at.

My friend has 60 Darco straws and the sodding department of Agriculture won’t allow us to use them because they “might” be EVA positive.

Mutter…mutter…growl…

I heard that, in Europe, you could take your mare TO Darco to be covered, but you couldn’t take straws across the border. Too weird.

We have Douglas by Darco frozen semen from VDL Stud here and in stock. He is an amazing jumper. Darco is a heavy line so goes well with a lighter mare.
