Parents of BOYS! Tall boot FIASCO!

My son should be moving out of jods this year, but finding tall boots has been a no-go! He currently is wearing a size youth 6 or men’s 9. Most youth tall boots only go to 5, and the couple that do go bigger don’t go big enough in the calf (13" - he’s an average boy build, not heavy). I think they are geared more towards gangly girls. That said, a men’s boot is too tall. Ladies boots tend to be too narrow for his foot. C’mon, he’s an average boy. Help! Bonus points if you find boots with a decent price point - we’re halfway through show season, don’t start until mid-July and probably only have a few to go to this year, and you KNOW he’ll outgrow them by next year!

Hi! I’m neither a man nor the parent of a boy BUT!

parlanti’s are semi custom & you can find them in Europe for half the price that they are the states & can probably resell them for a decent amount when your son outgrows them.

just follow the size guide on their website (it’ll have you measure the calf width & height and his foot size).

I love the website justriding.com because they have amazing customer service peeps who can answer any measurement questions online! Pretty cool.

good luck!

Have you considered black paddock boots with the matching black gaiter/half chap that look like tall boots? At least for this year.

Something like this:

If he wears a spur it is even less noticable.

Get a pair of men’s boots that fit his foot well, and have your local leather guy (there is always a local leather guy to be found  ) take down the top for you. I have had boot alterations done by my local guy, and they’ve never been above $60 or so.

Pretty sure I saw that Just Riding (a european site) is having a HUGE clearence of Parlanti’s right now if that helps the OP find a good deal.
