parlanti boot zipper keeps breaking

ugh so I bought a pair of Parlanti’s about a year and a half ago from an online store in Europe. I only wear them at shows and take really good care of them. at the past two shows I went to the zipper on one keeps breaking apart in the middle of the calf when the boots are fully zipped. no reason either just sitting normally and it pops. I really don’t want to pay to have them fixed (and I don’t trust anyone) and I don’t have the money to buy new ones. would either parlanti or the site I got them from have any sort of warranty for them and send me new ones/fix them given the amount of time I’ve had them! Thanks!

Parlanti does have a warranty on them, they will fix them for you. Personally I would just get new ones put in. I got new super strong zippers put on my tall boots for 45 each - totally worth it

I bought my daughter Sergio Grassos and the zipper broke within four months. The shoe repair man said the zippers were very cheap. He put stronger ones on for $60. He also told me to make sure she cleans her boot zippers to get dirt out and doesn’t wear the Zocks with them as those thin socks can get eaten by zippers and will ruin them. I have also read that, if your zipper gets stuck, you can spray Windex to try to get it moving again. You can also use a product called Zipper Ease to help lubricate the zipper.

All of of this to say-get the zippers fixed by someone that knows zippers and then take care of the zippers.

They offer no warranty and it sounds like one of the zipper teeth are bent and beyond repair. I would send them to have them replaced to a cobbler that specializes in riding boots. I’ve had great success and a timely turn around with Pisano and Sons in Phoenixville PA.

I had mine fixed by Beval, and their replacement has lasted longer than the original ones. I think it was $90 per boot.

get new QUALITY heavy duty zippers put in.

If you don’t know where, I would ask a motorcycle cop where they take their boots. They usually have an expert who does good, quality, lasting work

Had mine for 9 months before the zipper started popping. I hear they upgraded that with the newest model, but who knows. Got a western saddler in town to put in a heavy duty zipper on one boot, now just waiting for the other to pop. Cost me $15.

Sometimes rubbing with bar soap will help a zipper close or stay closed, but ultimately if it’s popping open like this the zipper is failing and needs to be replaced. The good news is that you can take it to any good shoe repair shop. They are all set up to do zippers on lady’s knee-high winter fashion boots, at least in my climate zone  and have no problem doing riding boots.

Plus shoe repair shops, IME, are relatively affordable because they need to attract a clientele who are thinking: toss or repair these old things? On the other hand, anything specific to horses is often more expensive that the generic form of the thing.

I have 2 pairs of these boots the newest pair being 9 months new, with very light usage. The older pair are in getting new zippers at the boot repair and today the new pairs zipper breaks!!!

Never buying this brand again.

Mine broke the first time I pulled them up. So I went to my little local cobbler and put in heavy duty work zippers. Work fine but I am sad that I spent so much money and the zippers were similar to women’s dress slacks quality!

I’m not sending mine to Parlanti for repair, they couldn’t get it right the first time on either pair of boots ,so I have ZERO faith they can do it right the 2nd time ,so mine are also going to a reliable, known to me repair guy.

Not the most expensive boots but not the cheapest either and the fact that this is an ongoing issue and that they are aware of and don’t care to rectify it - really makes me mad.

I’ll never recommend this company with their broken zippers and 6 month warranty!!!

Elastic inserts are preferable to zippers.
