Parlanti VS denero

I’m looking to get new boots for shows. The local retailer can get me Parlanti or denero boots. I’m leaning towards Parlanti because the leather looks softer and nicer. Does anyone have experience with the two brands?

I have had my first pair of Deniros for 5 years and they are just getting to the point where they are starting to break down. Recently I replaced them with another pair, as the old ones are no longer show worthy. I am very happy with both pairs, however the new pair has a more durable leather, and because of that breaking them in hasn’t been very fun. Deniro makes (or used to make?) the Ottavianos with a softer leather, although I’m blanking on what it is called.

Based on the experience of barn mates with Parlantis, the Deniros have been much more durable! Some people have been wearing their Parlantis only as show boots for a year or two and have already worn through in the inner calf.

It’s funny because I have a friend who rides 2-4 horses a day in his Parlantis and they lasted 4 years but my friends off the rack deniros dies within 6 months of 1-4 horses a day 😳

I have a pair of Tri Colore, a second, less expensive line launched by DiNiro in the last year or two. Love them. I used heel lifts in them for a bit. No other break in necessary. They were around $399.

If you are just looking for a show boot, go with what looks and fits best right out of the box.

But from personal experience, the best value and durability is going to come from the Tri Color line by DeNiro.

It’s so weird how everyone’s experience varies! Over the years I have had my boots I have been riding 1-2 horses a day and the older ones are the youngs which are the cheaper ones, but have worn super well!

check out the retailers website too for their clearance section- I’ve ordered two pairs of Parlanti’s at half price that way! Calf skin for showing, buffalo for schooling- both have held up great and I got two for the price of one.

Also- in my experience, the Parlanti’s fit people with a long, thin leg best. I’m sure someone else can weigh in on the Deniros

I have a pair of Deniro Salentos and I really love them. They’ve lasted me a year so far riding 5x per week. I have never had Parlanti’s so I can’t speak from personal experience but I have heard that they break down very quickly due to the super soft leather.

I have DeNiro’s - I couldn’t tell you the specific boot, it’s the pebble texture one that may not be made any more…they were a B to break in but they are the most durable, well-fitting boots I’ve ever had. After 3 years of almost daily riding & lots of showing, they are splitting by the toe, but it’s an easy & relatively cheap fix at a shoe repair place. I abused them slightly… so if you ride & take them off, switching to another pair of shoes for bath/other barn work - they should last for years & years.

I have the Parlanti Aspen Pro boots with the buffalo interior leather. I’ve only had them for a year, but I can tell these are going to last a while longer than my other parlantis. If you buy from Europe, they are also very reasonably priced.

I’ve tried on Parlantis and I think I’m in between sizes. The instep/ankle area was also too tight in the boot with the right width calf for me. I’ve had a few pairs of DeNiros and they are very comfortable. The last pair I got for schooling I customized some to try to improve the durability, but I’m not kind to boots. Only real comment is the stock zipper in Parlanti seems to be more durable than the stock DeNiro zipper

I tried both. Ended up buying the deniro Salentos. They are only show boots but I’ve had them 6 years showing regularly. I had to replace the zippers once but the leather is in beautiful condition.

I have 2 pairs of Deniros that I love, and both are in excellent condition after several years. O bought both from the UK.

If you want more info you can go to my blog and search (top right corner) “deniro”. You will get a post about them and a post about replacing the zippers. Tons of pics and info- too much to share here! Blog is hunkyhanoverian.com
