I have an older grand Gilbert Nicole. Is there a market for them?
I bought an 80ās Passier Baum saddle. My saddle fitter said it was one of the few that would fit my pony; the GGN is probably the same. She said theyāre easy to adjust if necessary. If someone is looking for a saddle without blocks and a deep seat, itās wonderful and will last the rest of your life. I recently attended a clinic and not one rider had a saddle without blocks; I prefer not feeling locked in. (My saddle was just over $300 on ebay, so you may not get much for it.)
Yes, but expect maybe to sell it for around $800.
Oh, I love old Passier saddles! Is the GG the one with the billet that comes through the block? I prefer the old, OLD Passiers with straight (short, if I can find them) billets.
I, too, hate to feel blocked into the saddle.
Recently fully reflocked with newer billets and the leather in good condition around here it might bring $600-800. If it needs work, it might be hard to move for more than $450. Iām in an area that is fairly saturated but older saddles are really hard to move. I got an older black country fully reflocked with new billets for $800 because it looks like an older style.
There is but they wonāt sell as well as blocked ones. I love Passier saddles and thatās all I ride in. They are horse friendly and they help you develop a good seat because youāre not locked into position.
I recently sold one for $300. Love this saddle, saddle didnāt fit any of my horses anymore after retiring one.
I currently have two, a PSL Baum A/P and a PSL dressage, both are āoldā but are brand new. I do not have them advertised as I want to keep them. They are appreciated by the older crowd but the younger generation all seem to want the ātrendingā saddles which changes frequently in my opinion!
I love my Passier GG. I bought it used, for $500, and reflocked it and had the billets fixed. It has an extra long flap which is nice for me, since Iām a giant. With care it will last a āsecondā lifetime
I have a Passier GG Nicole that was new when I was in college. (And I am old enough to now have a child of my own in college.) The leather is beautiful and tough; it wears like iron.
My vet spotted it from 20 feet away and was just tickled I had one too. It may not be what all the cool kids are buying, but thereās definitely an enthusiastic market for them.
Thanks for all the replies
