UPDATE!
its been nearly 3 months since my original post and I’d thought everyone would like to know how crazy turns out.
I lasted until last month before I gave my 30 days notice and bolted out of that facility. I cut my losses with teaching (before giving my notice) and gave up my students that were taught on her schooling horses. (I’ll get to my reasonings shortly)… my parameters shrank so much, she would not let up on hounding me. It nearly brought me to the unprofessional breaking point. As someone who is an equine professional that deals with cra-cra daily, I’m pretty sure I gave it long enough before the writing on the wall was GLARING at me. Weirdly, other than terrible pasture management, the horse care was exactly what I paid for no more, no less.
Whats that writing on the wall? Everyone knew she was nuts before I did. She purchase a large-ish facility in the middle of nowhere for way too much money. Hubby has basically stopped supporting her “business” and she is in complete financial downfall.
Middle of nowhere facility + Crazy BO x borderline horse hoarder = failing from the onset of thought equine business.
Her only sense of control left was to try to control me. Lightbulb moment.
What did did I tell her? Some version of the truth. Friend needs a buddy for their gelding. Too good of a deal.
My gelding is with his friend, and I get to ride with a buddy. I also stopped teaching schooling students due to stress and time. I stressed about the time I would see BO.
Happy to move on! Thanks COTHers!
