I just received two emails from administrator@chronofhorse.com with my password. I didn’t ask to be reminded of my password. Is this some kind of phishing and do I need to change my password?
Sounds like maybe somebody was trying to log in under your name and when unsuccessful, clicked the link for a password reminder e-mail. It would then go to the e-mail connected with the account (yours).
That could have happened because someone with a similar username made a typo when logging in, or someone forgot their username and mistakenly thought it was juliab, or someone could be trying to get into your account. Might be best to change your password just in case, making sure it is one that is not easy to guess or figure out.
That’s not a valid COTH email address. The password emails come from autoreply@chronicleforums.com, I believe.
But if you post a copy of the email, I can tell you if it’s legit or not.
