What happened to Patch? He has basically fallen off the face of the earth since his 4th place running in the WV Derby last August.
Good question. You got me curious so I decided to google it and couldn’t really find any information. Following this thread to see if anyone else knows.
He hasn’t had any workouts either according to Equibase. Always liked him because he was a hard tryer.

- [B]Patch[/B] – Everyone's favorite one-eyed Kentucky Derby contender was 14th in the Run for the Roses but third in the Belmont. After a fourth-place run in the Grade 3 West Virginia Derby in early August, the Todd Pletcher charge resumed training at Belmont Park in the fall. He has since taken a vacation at Calumet Farm. Pletcher expects the son of Union Rags will mount a 4-year-old campaign and should be back in the barn soon to resume training.

And I wish COTH would correct its “Unapproved” problem. Just because someone wants to copy-and-paste something into a post is no reason for COTH to not approve the post.
He fell off the face of the earth since the WV derby. Good to hear he’s taking a hiatus, he needed it, but its now March and he has yet to have a posted workout. Wonder if he is back with Pletcher yet. Time will tell. I think he’s one of the more consistent campaigners from last year.
He was on a vacation at Calumet Farm and is returning to Pletcher’s Palm Beach Downs operation tomorrow.
