I always enjoy Pau because the jumps are so imaginative and humorous, even though not very “natural”.

Who’s the cross country course designer?
Pierre Michelet. He does Pau 5*, the World Young Horse Championship at Le Lion d’Angers. He did the Normandy WEG and the Rio Olympics. He himself rode at 5* level.
I love all the funky XC fences. Any idea when the maps will be released? It’s tradition for SO and I to look through them and have a giggle. SO really liked the year they jumped a violin.
I like the artist palate fence. I think they had an old bearded painter guy sitting there one year? I get a kick out of the horses galloping past the gas stations and roads with traffic whizzing by, then on and off the racecourse…it’s all just so endearingly quirky and random.
