Pau 5*

I contacted Pau online & they responded. They told me they’d fixed the problem with the error code and to delete my account & set up another. I did but to get it set-up it requires payment again. I’ve requested a refund of the 1st fee & I guess I’ll just be skipping Pau this year. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I contacted the above email and they replied immediately saying they only dealt with subscription and payment queries.

This is the link to the contact us page for technical issues. So far haven’t heard back…

I got up about 3 and watched for about an hour. Went back to bed, and see now I have missed Will. :rage: I got back just in time for a break, so I thought I would try to watch Boyd’s ride, but no, I still can’t watch yesterday’s dressage. I won’t be paying for Pau next year.

so what is Will’s score today?

33.2

I still haven’t heard from them, but tried the website again. I’d been logged out so logged back in and it seems to be working now.

Anyone know what probably caused the discrepancy in scores between judges for Piggy?

I watched a lot of it, and I love the scoring going on the screen, btw, but there was a wild discrepancy in quite a lot of the scoring. It is tough to watch the movements on screen, then owlishly look at the scores, so I have no idea how they come up with this stuff, but one of the last rides had a 4 and a 7 for the same movement. I probably saw that 10 times in the last two days. I guess they got one who scores high and one who doesnt.

If you look on the World sports Timing website, click on their total scores you will see the whole score sheet.

Mr Olier likes the number 7 :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ?

Piggy in H&H;

Piggy was delighted with the 11-year-old (by Humphrey 61 and out of a Contender mare), while a little frustrated by the discrepancies in marks. There was more than eight percent difference between her score from the judge at B – who had the pair in 11th place on 69.63% – and the judge at C, who marked the combination as the leaders at this stage on 77.96%.

She explained that her frustration is in trying to understand what the judge at B is seeing – given a similar situation happened at Blenheim – and therefore analyse what she needs to do in order to elevate the marks from judges on the side of the arena.

“He was brilliant and I’m delighted with the horse,” said Piggy. “He felt on the button and that test to me felt a sub-25.”

She said that she wondered if she had Halo’s frame “too up and out” at Blenheim, and this time had him rounder at the base of the neck. She added that he was in front of her leg, on the aids, halting square and doing his changes nicely.

“The rest of the competition is a complete and other thing. This is about the today and now – knowing where you are with your horse, with your training and trying to get the best out of them. I’ve built up to two good competitions, he’s a lovely little horse and felt like he gave it all,” she said.

“I’m not saying I could do a better job [of judging]. But I’m just confused that it’s also [the judge at] B, so I’m taking it away with me, that the judge on the side is not liking something.”

Looks like rain all day on Saturday for Pau.

But the second judge is not consistently giving scores 6% higher than the other judges which makes me think something notable happened.

She commented she had a similar issue at another event so it’s something she is doing. Piggy rocks.

Not sure why. I suspect the playbacks aren’t loaded. I could not get the jog past that screen. Also could not get Dressage 1 last night. Nor 2 this am. I was able to access Dressage 3 a few hours ago. My techie son says they aren’t loaded yet… look for how long the video is and if there is a time on it, it’s been loaded. I have received 2 different email / addresses for next level help from the 2 I have tried so far. No word back on #3 yet!

So twisty and turny the jumps look like they’re all on top of one another. Lots of water. The last combination mushroom wedges are interesting looking.

For Piggy, the judge at H was closer to the judge at B, at 71.1. It seems weird she can’t get feedback from someone about what’s going on from the side.

It’s a bit disturbing seeing Boyd with bruised eyes, I hope for his sake those aren’t from a concussion at Maryland.

Do you get bruises from a concussion?
of course the bruises are from Maryland. Where else would have he gotten them? I doubt if Sylva has that big of a punch!

Why yes, your eyes can bruise from a concussion. He also could have whacked his face. That’s why I wondered. If from a concussion, he’s riding two horses in a 5* a week after being concussed. Glad you think that’s so hilarious.

wow! when Ollie started, it was POURING rain. They have taken out several jumps. Boyd went 4th. The ground was already showing the footprints. He went with no jumping penalties, but time. I doubt if there will be any without time today.
