How this man was not banned for life is something that I will never understand.

.

I have many fond memories of the Fairfield Hunt Club from my childhood. I would like to think better of them.

He doesn’t have to be a member in good standing to give a clinic on private property or even a showground hosting a rated show on a non show day. And he’s still suspended. Nothing new. But bumping this up might be a good idea, we haven’t seen it for awhile.

Along with a recommendation you read Hot Blood…and please refrain from naming any horse Sandman…that was the nickname of the hit man who was hired to kill so very many horses for years ( and testified against those who hired him) . I cringe every time I hear that name over a PA and I’m hearing it more often lately.

As a youngin’ I have only heard snippets of the PV ordeal. A slow day at work allowed me to skim through this wild thread. What a ride it was! Mostly because of the OP whose alters are now clearly marked in nice red print now- there had to of been at least 5-10 alters, all with varying opinions and views. What a sociopath that poster was!!!

Also relevant that the Farmer/Glefke duo was brought up almost 10 years ago in the midst of horse killer/abusers/criminals/frauds.

Ten year old thread - is that a record for reincarnation?

This one NEEDS to be brought up again every couple of years.

As does the reminder to read Hot Blood, because people like PV are still around and making money on the sport.

It’s available on Kindle now! Out of print, still, which is unfortunate since it’s much easier to share with friends that way.

I know I have it on Kindle haha if anyone needs to borrow, we can be a lending library for mandatory reading

The thread was brought up to add new info about PV (post #1036).

Kelley Farmer was a junior during this period riding with Bill Cooney and Frank Madden. Not sure what you read, but probably not very accurate.

I think they just came up in the course of the thread ten years ago as I believe both? Maybe just kellee? were set down for doping then also (2006? 2007?)

I recently reread Jean Slaughter Doty’s wonderful pony book The Crumb, which ends with the heroine’s pony being mistakenly electrocuted instead of the valuable horse that was supposed to be killed. The book was published in 1976. For anyone who wants some more reading suggestions on the topic

It is encouraging that so many still remember the Hot Blood book, and all of the horrible stuff it entails. 23 folks were indicted, and probably more should have been. A sinister ring of folks killing horses for insurance money, let me repeat - killing. In that 23, many other famous names. Please read about it!

7 years I think?

And the crimes were 35 years ago and more.

I counted from the original post. So long gone posters on record
