That is really sad to read. He was such a gallant horse and I had hoped he would live to a ripe old age. RIP Paynter 
Not sure why this particular horse captured my heart so much. Must have been his tireless bravery throughout his recovery. So glad he survived long enough to give us one of the greatest horses of his era so his legacy will literally live on. Power up Paynter
