Pedigree gurus

Alright pedigree gurus and nerds…what do ya’ll think about my boy’s bloodlines? Anything exciting? I know several of the names but a lot unfamiliar.
JC name is Cagey Curt
www.pedigreequery.com/cagey+curt

The first link that came up had cageycurt in the name field and “ No horse found”. Changed the spelling in the field to Cagey Curt and came up with a 15 year old Canadian bred gelding. Is that him? If so what’s he been doing? As an older horse, there are going to be different horses in the first couple of generations then you typically see in a much younger horse’s pedigree. Only one I recognize close up is paternal grand sire Marquetry and that only from racing record. Further back the Conquistador Cielo likewise only from racing and, if course his sire, Mr P was quite prolific and appears in a good many TB lines but usually thru Gone West and few others that escape me at the moment

Round Table shows up in a lot of sport horse lines and is closer here then you usually see but still been dead 50 years or so, May not be that influential here.

Dont really recognize anything up close on the bottom. Ribot of course but just name recognition.

Anyway, this should bump this up for you and the real gurus can dissect it in detail.

Never had any experience with Mass Market TBs, but I like Marquetry fine as as sire for LL pursuits. I found his offspring could be slower to mature physically, good bone, and pleasant dispositions. Usually blingy too. Not a line I associate with UL talent, but decent jumpers and a more huntery way of going. I liked his sire Conquistador Cielo a lot - lots of nice, solid horses came from that stallion.

Interesting to see the line-breeding to Vice Regent, a stallion I predominately associate with eventing. It pairs well with His Majesty and Warfare, not a line I see crossed often - in terms of jumping, those are all excellent names to see, and bring a hefty dose of some older jumping blood through the linebreeding. You’ve got some doubling to Man O War, lots of Gainsborough (Hyperion) - excellent names for sport pursuits - and as Findeight mentioned having Round Table up close hurts nothing - that is a solid staying line for sport.

In all, I’d say there’s nothing at all on this page that would jump out at me as a detractor. It’s a fairly common pedigree, minus the tail female – which is a rather isolated female family outside of Germany.

Well Marquetry is a Conquistador Cielo son and I love both horses as sires.Marquetry made nice broodmares…If you look a wee bit further there is Quadrangle an Prinquillo and NeverBend all lovely sports horse makers…and Mr P1x rare…no Storm Cat rare…

Thanks everyone for the input
It’s always interesting to know more about certain bloodlines.
He’s been a big worrier and not sure if that’s an inherited thing or just a bad race track experience. He only won one race at 8F. They used to hold his tail until the start gates went, sending him up instead of forward. I’ve never seen anyone do that before.
Unfortunately, he’s only LL dressage, trail. He doesn’t like to jump, although when he does, he’s super cute.
Thanks

I adored Marquetry and have pictures of him graciously accepting peppermints. Very, very kind horse, but definitely a more huntery type.

We have a Marquetry son that did 3* Fairhill (old level), he’s stunning with lots of chrome, quirky on the ground walking to the ring, always willing to please though. Did extremely well up to Intermediate.
He is happily keeping my miniature donkeys company this winter, and loves when people come to feed treats.

He also worried and fretted when we got him, and in fact cribbed the first few months that he came to the barn. Once we discovered that he liked a quiet stall in the barn, but with a good view of everyone else, and the 'action ', he settled down and became a pet - except around his grain…
