Pedigree Opinion

I don’t know if this is a proper place to pose my question but I’ll ask anyway.
I’ve come into a partial ownership of a yearling Thoroughbred colt and I would like an opinion on his pedigree from someone that knows a little about them.
His sire is Spring At Last and his dam is See The Forest.

I think there is a race named after the maternal G dam and I think a sales topper this year at 1.5 million was out of the maternal G G dam.
Any opinions would be welcome.

Not a bad pedigree at all. Spring At Last offspring seem to have an affinity for grass and synthetic tracks. See the Forest is a daughter of Critical Eye, who was a very nice NY bred mare. She didn’t produce anything of her quality but it’s a solid family that can get you a horse that could win a few.

my only concern was See the Forest’s soundness. She was vanned off once and then actually broke down in her last race.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

This is the second of 3 foals for her and they all seem to be nice. Her first one, by Jump Start is a winner. She has one by Mineshaft and is in foal to Bodemeister. I do believe she could have raced again but they decided to breed her.
Thank you for your input.

Actually, she broke her shoulder in the starting gate and it cost 15k to save her so I don’t think an accident would mean she tends toward unsoundness.

I think we has See The Forest as a yearling/2 yr old for Scott. I’ll have to check the records tomorrow, we had Critical Eye during her career as well as several of her offspring.
