Pedigree thoughts

Congrats, BRNE! This thread has me dying to know what TPB is. Anyone care to enlighten me?[/QUOTE]

Three Plain Bays–a reseller of OTTBs. BUT you have to move fast, she tends to sell quick. For example, she got this guy I think late Friday night or Sat morning…I had told her I was interested BEFORE she even had him at the farm. I came down on Sunday and sat on him…told her I wanted him and vetted him today. I’m local so my own vet went over to her place for the vetting.

She knew I’d like him  I’m also the sort of buyer that knows pretty quickly if it is something that I like and that suits what I’m looking for.

This guy is likely to be keeper for me. Hopefully a nice 2* horse.

Duh - I know who she is. Just was not connecting the acronym! I am the person that usually has to google these things…

I love LQ for personality and Carson City for hind end. Sounds like this boy has both in spades. Congrats! I’m lucky that the type you and jprp like is not my type or I would have an even bigger problem

I don’t know Scubed…you liked my boy Loveton and he came from jprp

I think this boy may be a combo of Loveton and Porter.

But I mostly like Loveton’s adorable face :love-struck:
Porter is a cool horse, but so not my type. I love watching you ride them though.

Yes Loveton had a really beautiful head. (Probably the prettiest horse I’ve ever owned. Miss him terribly still). I really don’t have a physical type. If you walked in my barn you would see a lot of very different physically looking horses. I have a type of ride that I prefer. My horse Porter and mare Roxie couldn’t be more different in physical type (funny both get confused for WBs though) but both are very similar to ride over fences. Both a bit sensitive and hotter. I like finesse rides. But I really like a willing attitude. I also like smart.

But in terms of physical type, I like pretty. And I like athletic but athletic can come in a lot of different shapes. Anyway. New guy does have a cute face  He has a lot of filling out to do… Hopefully some of our good PA grass will help!

So I’ve given Sheridan some time off since buying him. Started him on GastroGuard and he is steadily gaining weight but still has a way to go. Decided today to get on. Tacked him. He stood calmly on crossties. Stood at the mounting block and was easy to get on. Walk, trotted and cantered both leads around in the indoor. Turning is iffy but not bad. Then we went out for a walk around the farm. He took the lead. Happily walked on the buckle. No spook and very brave. Someone really started this boy right. He is too cool. Needs to put more weight on before I do much with him but I will hop on to walk him around and play a bit. I think he is going to be a blast.
