Penicillin cream for thrush (cow mastitis syringes)

I asked a friend to pick up the cow mastitis cream. I was thinking of Tomorrow (Cephaparin) but the stuff she found is penicillin based. It is also marketed as a treatment for cow mastitis. Does this work just as well? Does anyone know?

I have had great results using the “tomorrow” syringes to reach thrush that is buried deep into cracks.

Hi. I’m guessing your friend bought you Go Dry? I used to use it a lot and my farrier was a fan, and most thrush responds to it. But with the never ending recent mud, my horse got some nasty thrush that wasn’t resolving with Go Dry so I tried Tomorrow and now I’m a fan too. I don’t know if the antibiotic is what’s helping or just that the dispensing syringe gets the medicine deeper into a frog hole or heel crevice, or if it’s that Tomorrow is thicker so it stays where you put it better. Go Dry, the stuff is more liquidy/oily so it spurts out and ends up on the floor, plus it drips off your horse’s hooves. And the nozzle is softer - not so good for getting into a crevice. BUT for the same reason, Go Dry is easier when covering more area if that’s the type of thrush you’re dealing with.

I think its 6 of one, half dozen of the other which antibiotic you use. I think antibiotic resistant thrush is pretty rare. If you need to start treating and Go Dry is what you’ve got, I’d use it in a heartbeat.

Good luck

Yep, what PREconvert said, 6 of one half dozen of the other. Both work well with an edge to Tomorrow Dry Cow.
