Everyone root for Touchdown, going 9th in the order. He used to belong to a friend of mine in college and is one of the coolest ponies out there!
Thanks! He is the coolest pony - but he is a spook. He was very looky tonight but he tried so hard to be brave. I’m really proud of him (and DD).

He’s the best.

What happened to Antares F?
Andy popped an abscess at the Hampton Classic, I think they are bringing him back from that now.

Jamie and I were good friends and I rode him a few times at school…he was always such a blast! He’s the sweetest too. Give him a pat from me!

ETA: Thanks Supershorty! I really love Wings too…He always has such droolworthy horses.

Lol, girl riding horse named “Will Stop” in the Children’s jumpers. Guess what he did at the second fence?

I was thinking that too!!! That’s like naming a horse “Big fat miss”

My horse’s JC name is Chip In … needless to say I did NOT keep it as his show name

they should start a new line of “will” horses. “will add a stride.” “will miss a lead change.” i need a nap lol

Funny, I’ve seen Will Stop take some interesting distances and always thought it was ironic  But I guess he did stop this time!

The kid who just went clear (Wimberly DeBono?) put in a nice, aggressive (but still non-scary) round.

I think it’s in poor taste to compete in the children’s jumper final when the rider has already done and placed in a Grand Prix… maybe it’s just me, but…

Edit: Not referring to the girl Tha Ridge was talking about.

The girl who won children’s also won the low junior a/o final yesterday, I guess cross entry restrictions don’t apply for the finals? I’d think NAL wouldn’t allow that!

I was wondering the same thing and to the other comment regarding having done and placed in a Grand Prix – there really is not restrictions on doing the final? That seems so bizarre…(and in poor taste!)

I thought I misheard or misunderstood the line about the Grand Prix … it does indeed seem strange that it would be allowed?

Here’s a video from that grand prix - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra7ZgonJZnQ This is the horse she won yesterday on. Huge kudos to her for going clear in a grand prix at 14, but I wouldn’t expect to see her in the children’s finals (or really even the low finals, honestly).

I am now pretty confused because the I thought the NAL rules say the finals will be run in accordance with Zone rules (so Zone 2 for PA) which states the following:
Children’s Jumpers:
To be ridden by exhibitors who have not reached their 18th birthday by December 1 of the current competition year.
Fence heights to be set between 1.0m (3’3") to 1.15m (3’9"). Riders may not compete in any other class at the same
competition where fences exceed 1.15m (3’9") except the USEF Talent Search Class.
Horses may show at 1.40m (4’7") or
below with another rider. Cash winnings do not influence this classification. Sections and/or prize money, if offered, may be
divided and/or combined with the Adult Amateur Jumpers at the discretion of management.

The prize list says that low JR/AO riders can only do one c/a horse in the nal finals but that goes against the zone rules as the prizelist says the low jr/ao is 3’9-4’3.

Seems like a conflicting qualification and still agree in poor taste if you’ve done a grand prix

Yeah, very poor taste. But the kid who won was also a terrifying Pony Jumper rider in the past… That divisions seems to produce riders more intent on winning at any cost than actually riding.

On a different note, Little Tom, the A/A jumper going right now, is about the cutest thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. The announcer said he’s a TB x Connemara!

I LOVE Little Tom. He’s been doing this for a long time! He was stabled by us when Nikki and I went to the National Horse Show in 2008. IIRC, he won the first 2 classes in the low junior/amateurs and was 6th in the classic. His people are really nice too.

He looks a little like a mule. And I mean that in the best, most endearing possible way!

Is there a reason that Ahmed Alali rides with his feet stuck straight out in front of him? He sure has nice horses, though.

I was wondering the same thing, seems it would make you awfully off-balanced. He even walked out like that.
