Apparently so, so I’ll repeat mine: do you not read Madeline’s posts?

I love the bay Apple and the paint that just went, Standing Ovation.
I am trying my best to not let too much else go by the wayside in lieu of watching online, but I love what I am seeing. In particular, I watched the tail end of the NAL Adult Hunters this evening, and felt like a little bit of pace was being rewarded over that cumbersome slow look.
I read everyone’s posts and quite enjoy the fact that they come from all different viewpoints, from various levels of experience. If I were to rephrase the question about posting at the canter during the hack, I might have said, Jesus Christ, do ALL these people have hemorrhoids? So in fact Madeline is much kinder than the real me. The nastiness is simply unnecessary. A lot of kindergarten training seems to have gone by the wayside tonight.
^^^^ Mmm hmmm. Yeah, but some people seems to ask for and need a little chiding.
IMO, when someone respected and knowledgable on this board answers your question, you don’t keep arguing. It’s like asking the teacher a question, and then not wanting to hear the answer. Part of being mature and intelligent is recognizing whom to listen to.

I sat at my computer clapping like a nut because I actually used to ride Apple years ago (worked at a farm he was stabled at). Small world and several years removed, but it was like seeing little Apple all grown up. That pair looked awesome and I was so happy to see him kick butt! The random blast from the past was a welcome surprise for my evening.
Edit: HOLY CRAP HE WON

You should see him with his owner, it’s a really cute picture.

Great job Jill Wilson and Apple from Keswick Hunt!!!
Oh my gosh I am in love with that chestnut that just finished! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wider horse…and his little tiny head on that huge body made me giggle. And they laid down a perfect trip!
random question in anticipation of the jumpers this week - what has Reed Kessler been up to lately? just curious

LOVED the fat Irish horse!!! And that trip was awesome!!
PS how high are the jumps? 2’6" or 2’9"? It’s hard to tell with the camera angle.
Fat Irish chestnut wins! And he even posed!

Glad to hear it. It’s always nice to play “where are they now?” and know things are going well.
Also…yay Irish horses!
Are these rounds going to be archived? I would love to see the fat Irish chestnut. What was his name?

I’ve given some thought on whether to defend my nasty self, and I’m going to try. A few topics that I always chime in on are helmets and jointed leverage bits. If you did any research on helmets outside of horse show land, you would find the instruction to have as little as possible between your skull and your helmet is universal. I don’t think that riders’ heads are different from skiers, bicyclists, and hockey players except in their slavish devotion to fashion. If a single head injury to a COTH forum reader is prevented by using their helmet correctly, all the abuse I take on this subject is worth it. Jointed curbs. Any understanding of physics and the anatomy of the horse’s mouth would consign these bits to the dumpster, but they, too are “fashionable”. I’m also astounded by the lack of pace shown in hunters as practiced in this millennium and amused by the theatrics employed to show how big their horse is jumping. I hope I share my disgust and dismay at the prevalence of pharmaceutical training with many of you…
