Anyone have suggestions on the best way to give Pentoxifylline ?My mare ate it for 2 days in her feed with Metformin but she’s now decided she won’t anymore …I’ve been dosing it orally but it gets really thick slippery and sticky
I had one horse that was on it. I had it compounded at Wedgewood and it was a vanilla-flavored fluffy powder. I don’t recall any problems with the horse eating it – I just included it as part of his daily supplements/grain and mixed it with water.
Is she refusing pills or a compounded powder? Mine gobbled up the pills with no problem in her grain.

She’s refusing the pills …hard to say which pills-she’s getting 34 Metformin and 11 Pentoxifylline …ate them first 2 days then stopped …
I mixed it in applesauce and syringed it in. Sounds like you’ve tried syringing it though. I was feeding half that amount so it wasn’t too bad.
