People without ACLs or with unstable knees--Riding Question

Is there a recommended way to get on and off without popping the femur off the meniscus?

This happened to me today getting on bareback, and it’s always followed by a brief moment of severe pain. Has to do with swiveling off the knee. I’m the process of an exercise program to strengthen my quads. Will that hold the knee in place during swiveling?

Is there a method for ground mounting without swiveling the knee?
