This spreader has some years on it. I have a potential buyer that says it needs new tires and chain which is around 1.5k. Looking at new spreaders of this brand, they are around 4k+. Used ones that I can find are something like 2500. So assuming the deduction for 1.5K, what would you let this spreader go for?
every part of that unit is available down to nuts and bolts

If the basic condition is good it worth more than you might think … $2700 ?
is yours similar to this in condition?

Yes, it looks just like that one, but needs new tires and chains. Chains are rusted and tires have tread but are what they call ‘dust something’ from just sitting. The tractor in your photo is the one I saw when I searched. It doesn’t say how old it is. They are wanting me to come up with a price rather than them making an offer. What do you think about $500? If their repairs are 1200, then that would make the tractor worth 1700. The buyer is not someone I want to take advantage of as he is my handyman and the tractor is for his very elderly father that still farms. I can got out and take a photo of it later and then you can see what you think.

I understand, we often have good to unused items that we could have sold that we just give away
at least to me $500 would not be “taking advantage” of the buyer, but does give them the pride of purchase to pass on to their father
